What is Cloud Backup & How does it work?

Your precious data travels through a safe (encrypted) connection via the internet directly to our secure data centre servers in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Blowfish algorithms

Your data then gets replicated to our secondary and tertiary data centres.

Every backup is encrypted with a password of your choosing. As soon as your data leaves your site no one can see, sniff or hack it, not even our technicians. If you forget your password your backups are useless. Not only is your data encrypted with 256-bit Blowfish algorithms, it is then sent to our secondary and tertiary servers through an encrypted SSL tunnel. In plain English….unreadable packets of data going through an impenetrable pipe between you and CloudM8 servers.

DataVault backup uses some pretty smart technology, it doesn’t send your  files to our server every time its changed –  it grabs the bits (1’s and 0’s) that have changed and sends them only. Also, cloud backup compresses or squashes the changes before it sends them out. So DataVault implements two methods to save your monthly usage!

Peace of Mind

Once set up that’s it! At the scheduled time DataVault Backup will start protecting your precious data.  In the morning you will have an email sitting in your inbox, reporting on the night’s events – complete peace of mind!

DataVault Backup can store as many previous versions of your files, as you like, or alternately, it can store up to the last 10 years of every file you have. This goes for your deleted files as well.

If you would like to learn more about Cloud Backup for your organisation, you can either complete our online form or download our brochure and complete the application form. You will be contacted by a CloudM8 representative to discuss taking you to the cloud.
